By air; the road from Istanbul is over a thousand kilometres and takes a full day each way. The flight is not part of the package, but we can book it for you — we ask how flexible your dates are and choose the best time together. You are met at Trabzon airport.
From late June to September. Outside that window Ayder and the higher plateaus are misty, cold and occasionally cut off; the programme turns that day towards the coast and the city instead. Uzungöl and Sümela can be visited year-round, though the road is slower in winter.
Yes, and it is the most requested combination: four days in Istanbul, then five on the Black Sea via a domestic flight. That comes to nine or ten days, and because the two regions are opposites the trip never becomes monotonous. When we combine them we also line the flights up with each other.
