Practical notes for this tour
- Best season
- May–October. The sea is warmest between July and September; April and November are cooler but quiet.
- Pace and walking
- No walking on the boat trip; moderate around the castle and bazaar. Sun protection is needed.
- Worth knowing
- Boat trips include a swimming stop, so bring swimwear and a towel. The midday Aegean sun is strong; a hat helps.
Good to know
The order of the programme can change with weather and traffic, but the number of stops stays the same. Museum entry and lunch are not included because they vary per person — we are happy to work them out with you when you book.

Bodrum and the Aegean in 5 DaysHow the day flows
The Bodrum tour splits into land and sea, and the character of the day comes from the order of the two.
The morning starts at Bodrum Castle. The castle is also the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, and its shipwreck finds are a collection with few equals anywhere. From the ramparts both harbours and the marina are in view.
Nearby is the ancient theatre; set above the town, its view and the castle are the two best photographs of the day.
The afternoon is the boat. Swim stops are made in the bays and lunch is served on board. The boat trip is a scheduled one and is shared with other guests — we do not offer private yacht charter.
The day closes at the Gümbet and Bitez bays or at Yalıkavak marina; which one depends on where you are staying. On the way back there is free time in Bodrum's bazaar.
Because the peninsula is forty minutes end to end, the day can be built the same way wherever you stay.
Who this tour suits, and who finds it hard
The Bodrum tour is one of the most balanced programmes on the site: little walking, plenty of sea.
It suits: people who like the water and boats, those who do not want to be on their feet in the heat, and anyone who wants history and sea in the same day. With no walking on the boat, older guests are comfortable too.
It can be hard for: guests who do not swim or are not easy in water, for whom half the boat day may pass empty. Most bays are pebble or platform rather than sand; the entry is hard underfoot and water shoes are needed, especially for children.
The sun is the real issue of the day. Shade on the boat is limited; a hat, sunscreen and water are needed. In July and August the midday hours are heavy.
Season: May to October. From November to April most of the peninsula is closed and the boat trip does not run; we do not recommend the Bodrum tour in those months.
