Belek is the closest of Antalya's major hotel areas to the airport: about 35 km and 30–45 minutes in normal conditions. Because the airport lies east of the city, the drive to Belek never enters central Antalya — it continues straight east on the D400. That makes this the route least affected by city traffic.
Most Belek hotels are invisible from the main road: they sit at the end of long private lanes running through pine forest down to the beach. After the turn-off it takes a few more minutes to reach the door, and several hotels share one junction behind near-identical signs. With the exact hotel name — and the booking reference if you have it — the driver takes the right entrance. Being dropped at the wrong gate with luggage is the worst kind of arrival.
Belek is largely all-inclusive hotels and golf courses; a guest arriving expecting a town centre or a bazaar to wander may be disappointed. In exchange, its long sandy beach, generous hotel grounds and closeness to the airport make it the easiest part of Antalya for families with small children. For shopping and the old town, central Antalya and Kaleiçi are about 45 minutes by car; Side is half an hour east.
