Kemer is about 57 km from Antalya Airport, and because the airport sits east of the city the drive begins by crossing Antalya westwards. Past the city the road drops to the shore and follows the strip where the Taurus mountains fall straight into the sea. The urban section slows morning and evening; the coast road itself can get heavy in summer because of tour coaches.
"Kemer" in a hotel address does not mean the hotel is in Kemer town. The hotel strip runs from Beldibi through Göynük, Kemer centre, Çamyuva and on to Tekirova — some 25 km end to end. A hotel in Beldibi is about 40 minutes from the airport; one in Tekirova can pass the hour. When we take the exact hotel name at booking we can tell you the real time rather than an estimate.
The coast road winds and in places runs directly above the water. The views are worth it, but for children prone to car sickness a front seat and regular fresh air help. There are several viewpoints and rest stops along the way if you want a short break. On night arrivals the road is quiet and lighting is limited — no issue for us, but worth knowing if you are considering driving yourself.
